I haven't blogged in such a long time, so forgive me if I am a bit rusty when it comes to writing.
Today, I am here to show you a simple, fuss-free halo eye that is a step down from the "classic" spotlight look. It is nice to change it up sometimes, isn't it?
subtle makeup - gold halo eye and bright skin
It's been a while since I decided to create a halo eye, years have passed since then. It was a purple and gold spotlight eye, do you still remember? I can file it as one of my more popular looks on the blog as well.

Max Factor Smokey Eye Drama Kit - 03 Sumptuous Golds
This time, I wanted to do a more subtle version of it, combining twinkly gold and rich brown eyeshadows. I paired the eyes with a comfortable nude lip, so the focus shifts to the eyes without them being over the top.
Today's look was also an entry to a makeup challenge over a year ago, and the participants had to use Max Factor products, so that's the very reason why I used a handful of them to create this look.
Max Factor Smokey Eye Drama Kit - 03 Sumptuous Golds
The eyeshadow quad is average to good, I already have a review of a different shade here. Max Factor eyeshadows have improved a lot, and these guys are incredibly soft, so they tend to have quite a lot of fallout. I used a wet brush to apply the sparkly gold shade to make it more vibrant.

before and after - Max Factor False Lash Epic mascara
The False Lash Epic mascara is the other star of the show: it has the same great quality and formula as most Max Factor mascaras. The only feature I don't like is the massive applicator. You need to get used to it, otherwise you can easily smudge mascara on the eyelids. I prefer small mascara wands.
What do you think of spotlight makeup? Do you like it to be neutral or colourful? Let me know.

The eyeshadow quad and the mascara were sent to me as PR samples to participate in a makeup challenge a while ago.
