Spring Avon Eyeshadow Quads - Luminosity & Day Glow | Review

Az Avon előállt pár új tavaszi szemhéjpalettával, ezek közül ma kettő mutatok be Nektek. Mindkét paletta pasztell színekkel köszönti a tavaszt.

Avon introduced a couple of new eyeshadow quads this Spring, and I will review 2 of them. Both of the palettes include pastel colours to match the season. 

Avon eyeshadow palettes - Luminosity and Day Glow

Sokáig tanakodtam, hogy ezt a tesztet töltsem-e fel előbb, vagy egy Avon hault még őszről, amiben további 5 szemhéjpaletta szerepel. Már ez a kis információ is elárulja, hogy nagyon szeretem az Avon szemhéjpúdereket, így nem lesz zsákbamacska a bejegyzés tartalma.

It took me a long time to decide whether I should upload my Avon haul first, or the review of these quads. I went with the latter option, so you will see an upcoming Avon haul soon that includes another 5 eyeshadow palettes I purchased last Autumn. That information already tells you that I adore Avon eyeshadows.

Az Avon szemhéjpúderekről általánosságban annyi mondható el, hogy nagyon puhák és selymesek. Annyira megtetszettek, hogy 2013 óta minden évben adok a gyűjteményemhez pár darabot. Hasonlóak az új generációs Essence szemhéjpúderekhez, ám mégsem teljesen olyanok. Könnyű velük dolgozni, a pigmentációjuk közepesről erősre építhető. A szatén és csillámló színekkel a legkönnyebb a munka, míg a matt testvérkéiket puha és szintetikus ecsettel érdemes felvinni, mert kicsit porzanak. Érdemes leütögetni a felesleget az ecsetről, ha nem akarunk a szem alá lehullott púderszemcséket. A leütögetős módszer minden szemhéjkencénél jól jön, de az ilyen puha textúrájú púdereknél különösen ajánlott. Ugyanezt a selymes szemhéjpúder textúrát találjuk meg az Avon mono, duo és négyes palettáiban is.

First off, I will talk about Avon eyeshadows in general. I started to collect Avon eyeshadows in 2013, and been adding to my collection every year. Besides the new generation Essence shadows, Avon makes my favourite affordable eyeshadows that have a silky smooth texture. They feel incredibly soft, blend beautifully and have buildable colour payoff. The mono eyeshadows, duos and quads all have the same texture.

Ilyen puha textúrájú szemhéjpúderekhez érdemes egy ragacsos bázist használni, az én kedvenceim erre a célra az Urban Decay Primer Potion, a Rival de Loop Young primer, az Artdeco primer vagy az Etude House Proof 10 szemhéjbázisa. Természetesen más primert is lehet vele párosítani, de ezzel a néggyel a legszebb az eredmény, illetve a NYX fejér jumbo ceruzájával.

Fekete műanyag tükrös palettákban érkeznek a szemhéjpúderek, hasonlóan a Chanel palettáihoz. A kedvenceim a duokróm hatású púderek, és az Avonnál szép számmal találhatunk ilyet. A magazin lapjain ez persze nem nagyon látszik, azért kell internetes képeket keresni egy-egy palettához, amit kinézünk magunknak a katalógusban.

Since the texture of the shadows is so soft and silky, I recommend using a hella sticky eye primer. My favourite bases for this sort of job are the following: UD Primer Potion, Rival de Loop Young primer, Artdeco eye primer and the Proof 10 eye base by Etude House. 

Avon shadows come in a black plastic palette that includes a mirror, it reminds me of Chanel packaging. My favourite type of eyeshadows are the duochrome ones, Avon makes a lovely selection of those, even though you can't really tell by looking at the magazine pictures. You have to look up swatches to see the true beauty of them.

A Luminostity Avon palettában két lila, egy pasztell sárga és egy világos bézs szemhéjpúder kapott helyet. Utóbbi kettő matt, míg a lilák duokróm hatásúak. Lehet, hogy páran emlékeztek, amikor 2011-ben készítettem egy pasztell sárga szemsminket. Azóta is nagy kedvencem a szín tavaszra, és rögtön azokat az időket juttatta eszembe a paletta.

The Avon Luminosity eyeshadow quads includes 2 duochrome purple colours, a matte ivory colour and a matte baby yellow colour. I am not sure if you remember, but I created a pastel yellow eye look back in 2011, and been adoring pastel yellow eyeshadows ever since. This palette takes me back instantly, even though I still have the yellow eyeshadow I used in that blogpost.

Az irizáló világos lila szemhéjpúder rózsaszínbe, míg a sötétebb lila kékbe vált át a fényforrástól függően. A matt baba sárga nagyon visszafogott a szemhéjon, így könnyen viselhető munkába is anélkül, hogy az emberek kiszúrják. Érdemes fehér alapra kenni, ha élénkebb hatásra vágyunk. Pasztell sárga szemhéjpúderhez képest nagyon jó a pigmentáció, ám olyan tömény színre ne számítsunk, mint például Sugarpill szemhéjpúdereknél. 

The lighter purple has a pink flash to it, while the darker one shifts to a bright blue colour. Both are duochrome eyeshadows, and they are very easy to work with. The matte shades are a little dusty, I believe that is because of the soft texture. Use a soft synthetic brush with these, harder natural bristle brushes might scratch the surface of the shadows. You will need to tap off the brush in order to avoid fallout. That applies to all Avon matte eyeshadows.

The yellow colour is very soft on the eyes, you will not get a big punch of colour from it like you would get it from Sugarpill eyeshadows. You can easily intensify the colour of it with a white base, otherwise it gives such a soft effect that you could easily wear these to work without people noticing that you are wearing colorful eyeshadow.

A matt világos bézs szemhéjpúderek hasonlítanak a bőröm színéhez, így alig látszanak a képen. Nagyon jól teljesítenek belső szemzug vagy szemöldök alatti kiemelőként.

The matte ivory colours in both palettes are pretty much the same as my skin colour, they are great as a browbone highlight. Again, because they are matte, they tend to kick up a little dust if you don't tap off the excess.

Avon eyeshadow quad - Day Glow

Az Avon Day Glow szemhéjpalettában kék árnyalatok kaptak helyet. Van itt egy csodás matt kobaltkék, egy matt és egy szatén hatású türkiz, valamint egy matt világos bézs a kiemeléshez. A kobaltkék kence emlékeztet a Nars Outremer szemhéjpúderéhez, ami már évek óta szerepel a kívánságlistámon.

The Avon Day Glow eyeshadow palette focuses on blue colours, including a gorgeous matte cobalt blue that reminds me of Outremer eyeshadow by Nars. It also includes a matte aqua colour, a matte ivory highlight shade and a satin turquoise colour.

A szatén hatású türkiz szemhéjpúder gond nélkül, szinte magát eldolgozva vihető fel a bőrre. A két élénkebb matt testvérét fokozatosan lehet építgetni ez erősebb színélményhez, de puha matt kence lévén porzanak, ha nem ütögetjük le az ecsetet. A kék paletta színei remekül mutatnak az előző paletta lila árnyalataival kombinálva. Pár napja készítettem egy Aurora Borealis inspirálta sminket velük, és szuperül nézett ki az egész.

The satin turquoise eyeshadows applies like butter (like all the Avon satins or shimmers do), and pairs nicely with the other colours in the palette. The other 3 shades are all matte, and they apply rather nice. You have to build up the blue ones if you want a punch of colour, otherwise they give a very soft colour to the lids. I find that the blues in this palette look awesome with the purple shades in the other palette. I created an Aurora Borealis-type look the other day, and it looked lovely.

It was interesting to me that the cobalt blue colour looked better on the eyes than it looked as a hand swatch. It's usually the other way around. 

Érdekes volt, hogy a kobaltkék szemhéjpúder szebben nézett ki a szemhéjon, mint a kézfejen. Általában ez a jelenség fordítva mutatkozik meg.
