I will write about the Realash eyelash enhancer today. I've done more than one treatment sessions, so I will share my thoughts and show before and after photos as well.
Realash eyelash enhancer - comes in lovely packaging |
There are many eyelash serums around nowadays. Back in the day, the most popular ones were made by LiLash and Latisse, you probably know about them. They were rather popular among American youtubers.
In 2014, Realash showed up in the European beauty industry, and that's how I became familiar with the brand.
Comparison to castor oil:
The only eyelash conditioning stuff I have tried before was castor oil, which works alright. It gives you more lashes rather than length. My problem with castor oil is that after a while, my lashes start to grow above my lashline, on my actual eye lid, really close to the lashline. It was barely noticeable, but the little lashes were in the way of where you would apply your eyeliner. Same applied to my hair growth: baby hair started to grow on my forehead, close to my hairline.
If I had to compare the two, the Realash serum gives you length in a shorter time frame, while castor oil gives you more lashes of the same length, and the result needs more time to show up.
Even though the packaging is different now, I received mine in a lovely bright lime and pink coloured box. The serum itself comes in a little gray box, and it looks like your average liquid eyeliner with a skinny eyeliner brush.

There is 3ml product in the tube, which doesn't seem a lot, however, I've done 3 full treatments so far and 1/3 of the product is still left. That's surprising, isn't it?
I started my first treatment session in 2014, so that's why I've done it 3 times so far. They say that the results show up after 14 days, but the serum needs 30 days to work for full results. Even though you're supposed to, I didn't apply mine every night at the beginning. It took me a good 6 to 8 weeks to see full results, but again, I often forgot to apply it every night.
Realash eyelash enhancer brush |
The skinny brush is very easy to use and it gives just the right amount of product so you don't soak the lashline. You apply it like regular liquid liner, to the base of your lashes. You can read about it on the photo below.

The Realash lash enhancer has rather nice ingredients. Since I've become such an ingredient freak, I am very pleased about it.

About my natural lashes:
I have rather curvy and average lashes (dare I say, they are on the longer side of average). The base of them is dark blonde, and the lash tips are white blonde, so you have to be up in my face to see the length of my actual lashes. The white blonde colour makes them look really short. The first 2 photos below are my lashes before the treatment, that's how they look naturally.
See the blonde ends?

As you can see below, the product gave my lashes quite a lot of length, I was genuinely surprised by that. It also curled my lashes, and I feel like the colour darkened as well.
Don't be afraid when a couple of your lashes fall out at the beginning, that's how lash serums work. New ones will be growing in their place, and those new ones will be the longer ones, actually. Once you finish the treatment and stop using the product, you will lose a couple of lashes again, and the curliness of them will eventually decrease.
eyelashes after Realash treatment |
I took the photo above after I finished the treatment, in other words, after using the product for 2 months. The resulst lasts for a couple of weeks before the lashes go back to their previous self. You can either continue to use it, or wait a little and do further sessions like I did. I started my 4th treatment session a couple of days ago. I started to use the Realash serum in 2014, so if you do the math, you can figure out that I do 2 sessions a year. I am very pleased with the look of my lashes this way.
Two things you need to be aware of are the following:
The product stings if it gets in the eye. Crying is not recommended while wearing it, and I'm guessing that's why you need to apply it before you go to sleep. I happened to cry in the evening, so it sure does sting when that happens.
The second thing worth mentioning is that the skin gets slightly darker in a thin line where you apply the product. I'm not sure if everyone's skin gets darker, but mine did. I remember that LiLash did the same thing to other people, so I guess this is another eyelash serum thing. The darkness goes away after a while.
If you are interested, you can read more about Realash on their official website, and they have a Hungarian website as well. (The links are NOT affiliate links!)
